So far: (We =PAH
and Pupils and Volunteers)
1 – We looked at Maslow’s pyramid of hierarchy as a foundation to human needs
2 - We then
looked at how this relates to school and education and what school provides or
fails to provide in regard to basic human needs
3 - Built a Maslow’s triangle from timber with graphic illustrations and turned it
into an interactive display for the public to fill in questionnaires about
their school life
4 - Looked at the ages of school and researched some key facts of what policies etc
were implemented in what years…also looked at fashion as ways of distinguishing
decades for graphic representation and interactive display.
5 - Built 8 mini blackboards each representing a decade in education history.
6 - Decorated them with quotes and images
7 - Created report cards for the general public to fill in about their school life.
8 - We also had
30 plus pupils create a portrait of themselves with a good and bad side of
their experience of education
All the above
were then put into an exhibition at the Cardiff Story Museum:
21 April til 22nd
May
All the above
are the foundation phase into understanding the role and impact of education
before launching into the interviews so that we can frame our questions well to
get the best information for phase three.
In phase 02 the
pupils will be trained in media and oral history techniques and then
interview older members of the community to gather local stories about time
spent at school and how it is different from now.
